The Carlow women’s golf team wrapped up its season at the Grove City Spring Invitational, on Saturday, April 28, at Grove City Country Club.
Carnegie Mellon, which entered an “A" and a “B" team, finished first and second, shooting 329 and 333. The Tartans had the top eight individual finishers in the match. Lavonca Davis was the individual medalist, carding a 79.
Carlow’s Natalie Abt (SO/Glenshaw, Pa.) had the best finish among the rest of the field, which included Westminster College, Grove City College, and some individual competitors. Abt fired an 87 to take ninth.
Samantha Stefanik (SO/Apollo, Pa.) shot 114, Lexie Mirenda (SR/Altoona, Pa.) shot 137, and Abby Wilczynski (JR/Erie, Pa.) shot 170.
The Celtics finished fifth of five teams, with a team score of 508.
The Carlow men’s team plays in the River States Conference Championship on Monday and Tuesday, at Lassing Point Golf Course, in Union, Ky.
