Carlow sophomore Javondii Myers was named the River States Conference Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for April 9-15 for his performance in the high jump at the Westminster Invitational.
Myers, a native of Columbia, S.C., placed second of 35 athletes with a height of 1.95 meters. In his first outdoor meet of the season after coming off an injury, he came up just short of the NAIA national qualifying standard of 1.98 meters.
The meet included other NAIA competitors as well as athletes from NCAA DI, DII and DIII schools. The event winner came from NCAA Division I Youngstown State.
Myers and the Celtics next compete at the Slippery Rock Open on April 19.
