Carlow sophomore Abby Stroud picked up two complete-game wins while posting a 1.00 ERA to claim River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of March 19-25.
Stroud led the Celtics to a 4-0 week, including a sweep of their first two RSC games of the season, against Ohio Christian University.
The right-hander from New Egypt, N.J. threw a shut out in a 4-0 win against NCAA Division III opponent Waynesburg on Monday. She scattered five hits and one walk, with two strike outs.
She followed it up with a strong performance in a 6-2 win against OCU on Friday. She allowed the Trailblazers just two runs on four hits and two walks, with four strike outs.
Stroud played second base in Carlow’s other two contests, tallying four hits, including a triple, with two RBIs and four runs scored.
She now has a 6-1 pitching record on the season and has won her last six appearances.
Carlow is 10-5 overall and 2-0 in the RSC, and will next face crosstown rival Point Park on Friday.
