Eight Carlow women's basketball players were named to the 2017-18 River States Conference Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team, announced by the league Saturday, March 10.
The RSC Scholar-Athlete Team is for student-athletes who have a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher, participate in an RSC sport and are nominated by their schools. Sixty-two players representing all 13 teams in the conference received the award. University of Rio Grande (Ohio) led the conference with nine honorees, and Carlow was second with eight.
Representing the Celtics were Kayla Brownlee (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.), Theresa Fachetti (JR/Harbor Creek, Pa.), Bria Rathway (JR/Belle Vernon, Pa.), Sami Simpson (SR/Bethel Park, Pa.), Reanna Turner (SO/Pittsburgh, Pa.), Noelle Vallimont (SR/Erie, Pa.), Caroline Willig (SO/Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Alexis Yanief (SR/Pittsburgh, Pa.).
