Myers to compete today in NAIA National Championship

Carlow sophomore Javondii Myers is set to compete today at the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Championships, in Pittsburgh Kansas.

The Columbia, S.C. native will compete in the high jump, which begins at 2pm. He is Carlow’s first national competitor in its first year fielding a track and field team.

Myers qualified by clearing the national “A” standard of 6’7" at the SPIRE Mid West Indoor Track and Field Open, in Geneva, Ohio, on Jan. 27. He took first place out of 29 jumpers from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA schools. The mark ranked him fifth overall in the NAIA.
