The Carlow men’s basketball team was short-handed in a 115-59 loss at No. 2 IU East, on Thursday, Feb. 15.

Due to injuries and a travel-heavy week of games, Celtics (5-20/5-11/0-2) left three starters and several other players behind and took just a small contingent on their trip to Indiana.

Cole Novotney (JR/Brownsville, Pa.) posted 13 points and three assists to lead Carlow. Ryan Jackson (JR/Baltimore, Md.) tallied 12 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Ryan Bradigan-Barnett (SO/Dayton, Pa.) had 12 points. Tony Acrie (JR/Johnstown, Pa.) had seven points and nine rebounds.

Datrion Harper had 25 points, six rebounds, and four assists to lead the Red Wolves (27-2/16-0). Daulton Blackwell added 17 points, seven assists and four rebounds. Charles Peterson had 15 points and Kendall Rollins added 10 as IU East ran up a 57-17 lead by halftime.

The Celtics host Rio Grande for Senior Day on Saturday. The contest will serve as a play-in game for the final spot in the River States Conference playoffs. If the Celtics advance, it would be their first postseason qualification in program history.
