The Carlow University women’s track and field team finished fourth in the inaugural River States Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 9, at Tiffin University’s Heminger Center.

Point Park claimed first place with 206 points in the team standings. Ohio Christian University placed second with 139 points and University of Rio Grande took third place with 133 points. The Celtics scored 35 points, followed by IU East (21 points), WVU Tech (18 points) and Brescia (7 points) in the seven-team meet.

The top three finishers in each event earned All-RSC honors, and the top six placements earned points for their teams. Scorers earned 10 points for first place, eight for second, six for third, four for fourth, two for fifth and one for sixth. All event winners established RSC indoor meet records since it was the first conference indoor meet held.

Larissa Kijowski (FR/Dayton, Pa.) had the Celtics' best individual finish, taking second place in the 1000-meter run, with a time of 3:05.68.

She finished behind only Point Park’s Anna Shields, who was named the RSC Most Outstanding Women’s Indoor Track Athlete after winning four individual events and being a part of one winning relay team. Shields posted a time of 3:02.49 in the event.

Kijowski was also a part of Carlow’s third-place 4x800-meter relay and fourth-place 4x400-meter relay.

She joined with Leanne Glaub (JR/West Seneca, N.Y.), Clare Brown (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Megan Horgan (SO/Bethel Park) to run 10:56.64 in the 4x800.
