The Carlow men’s cross country team placed four team members on the 2017 River States Conference Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team, which includes 29 student-athletes from the 11 conference teams.
To earn a spot on the scholar-athlete team, a student-athlete must have a 3.25 grade-point average or higher, compete in an RSC sport and be nominated by their institution. Point Park (Pa.) University led RSC men's cross country this year with six team members earning the academic honor.
Carlow’s awardees are Chandler Stockwell (JR/Richland, Mich.), Timothy Richardson (SO/Monongahela, Pa.), Jeffrey Amorose (SO/Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Christopher Woodley (JR/Northern Cambria, Pa.).
The complete list of RSC honorees is available at riverstatesconference.com.
The NAIA has a similar awards program, the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, which is for juniors and seniors who have a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. The following are this year's conference academic winners.
