WVU Tech knocks off Celtics in RSC, USCAA matchup

The Carlow volleyball team took a tough loss to WVU Tech, 3-0, on Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Joseph Hall.

The Celtics had one of their best performances to defeat the Golden Bears, 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-12), on Sept. 26. This time though, Carlow hung around for the first set, but after that it was all WVU Tech. The Golden Bears took a 25-21, 25-11, 25-16 victory, in the contest which was a conference matchup in both the RSC and the USCAA.

For Carlow, Mia Marmion (SR/Upper St. Clair, Pa.) had 19 digs, Emma Penrod (FR/North East, Pa.) had seven kills and Shelby Greece (SO/Vandergrift, Pa.) had two solo blocks and two block assists.

The Celtics look to rebound at Rio Grande (Ohio) on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Carlow defeated the Red Storm, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 16-14) on Friday, Oct. 6 at home.
