Hudock leads Celtics past Red Storm after Walk of Fame induction

The Carlow volleyball team came from behind to claim a River States Conference victory against Rio Grande, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 16-14), on Friday, Oct. 6, at St. Joseph Hall.

Immediately after she was inducted into the Carlow Athletics Walk of Fame as the Outstanding Student-Athlete of 2016-17, Kristina Hudock (SR/Uniontown, Pa.) led the Celtics past the Red Storm (3-17/0-6) with 19 kills, 11 digs and two serving aces.

The Celtics (10-11/3-4/6-2) also got a strong performance from Michaela Koran (JR/North Olmsted, Ohio), who posted 39 assists, 10 digs and eight kills. Carlow got a boost from the return of injured middle hitter Shelby Greece (SO/Vandergrift, Pa.) to the lineup.

Carlow next hosts WVU Tech at noon Saturday, Oct. 7. The Celtics defeated the Golden Bears, 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-12), on the road on Sept. 26.
