Celtics get big road win in five

The Carlow volleyball team claimed a thrilling 3-2 victory on the road over West Virginia University Institute of Technology on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The Celtics won the back-and-forth battle, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-12. The match had important conference implications, in both the River States Conference and the USCAA, as the Celtics and the Golden Bears are both members of each.

Carlow was powered by Kristina Hudock (SR/Uniontown, Pa.), who had 24 kills, 24 digs and two serving aces. Kassidy Dickson (JR/Cochranton, Pa.) also had a standout performance, with 14 kills and four blocks.

Michaela Koran (JR/North Olmsted, Ohio) had 48 assists, nine kills and an ace. Mia Marmion (SR/Upper St. Clair, Pa.) had a team-high 29 digs. Elizabeth Stadelman (SR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) added three blocks.

The Celtics now return home for a weekend of RSC play, hosting Asbury, at 7pm Friday, and Midway, at 12pm Saturday.
