Woodley, Amorose medal at PSU Greater Allegheny Invitational

Chris Woodley took third place to lead the Carlow men’s cross country team at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Woodley (JR/Northern Cambria, Pa.) ran 29:38 for a 5:58 pace in the 8K race. Jeff Amorose (SO/Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished in eighth place, with a time of 31:36.

Joseph Palmieri (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) was 16th, in 36:21. Matt Cannon (FR/Monogahela, Pa.), Chandler Stockwell (JR/Richland, Mich.) and Anton Sarazen (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, respectively. Cannon ran 40:10, Stockwell 40:46 and Sarazen 42:30.

The Celtics scored 70 points with a team time of 2:58:31, finishing in fourth place out of four teams.

Penn State Fayette was the team winner, with 32 points and a time of 2:34:48. Kent State Tuscarawas took second place, with 59 points and a time of 2:48:31. WCCC was third, with 60 points and a 2:50:01 time.

Individual runners from Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State Dubois also competed to round out the 29-runner field.

The Celtics next race at the Saint Vincent College Invitational at 9:30am Sept. 23.
