Carrie Slagle is an instructor and coordinator of the new second degree in nursing program at Carlow University. She has taught all levels of nursing courses with a primary enthusiasm for nursing fundamentals and health assessment courses for beginning nursing students. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Nova Southeastern University in Fort, Lauderdale, Florida where her dissertation is focused on nursing judgement development in the novice nurse. Her work will assist faculty with curricular development, teaching and learning strategies, and evaluation of student learning in nursing. She has worked in nursing education for 14 years focusing on adult learning styles. She also has management and leadership experience in academia.
