Carlow to host CCU in RSC Women’s Soccer Tournament

The Carlow University women’s soccer team will host Cincinnati Christian University in the quarterfinal round of the River States Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament this Saturday, November 5, at Highmark Stadium. Game time is set for 8:00 pm. A shuttle for fans will be running back and forth between Lot B on Carlow's campus and Highmark Stadium beginning at 6:45 pm.

The Celtics (5-8-2, 4-4 RSC) are the No. 4 seed in the tournament due to the tiebreaker of a head-to-head victory against No. 5 CCU (9-7-1, 4-4 RSC).

The RSC postseason is a six-team, single-elimination tournament, which begins with the quarterfinal round and continues with the semifinals Nov. 9 and the finals Nov. 12. The other quarterfinal matchup pits No. 3 Asbury (Ky.) University (10-5-2, 5-2-1 RSC) against No. 6 WVU Tech (7-7-3, 2-3-3 RSC).

Ohio Christian University is the No. 1 seed and the RSC regular-season champion. The Trailblazers (10-5-2, 7-0-1 RSC) were unbeaten in conference play and will have home-field advantage throughout the tournament. OCU has a bye in the quarterfinals and will host a semifinal game Nov. 9.

Point Park (Pa.) University is the No. 2 seed and will also receive a bye in the quarterfinals. The Pioneers (8-7-2, 6-2 RSC) will host a semifinal game Nov. 9 and are the defending conference tournament champions.
