Waszil goal wins it against PSU Beaver


The Carlow men’s soccer team shut out Penn State Beaver for its fourth USCAA victory, 1-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Cole Waszil (FR/Canonsburg, Pa.) scored the game-winner, his first career goal, in the 36th minute of play. Waszil headed in a cross from Gregorie Paluku (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.), who earned his first career assist.

Celtics goalkeeper Kosi Agbevor (JR/Brooklyn, N.Y.) made five saves, including two in the final three minutes of play, to earn his fourth shutout of the season.

Goalkeeper Sam Sharpless made five saves for PSU Beaver (10-8), which now heads into the PSUAC playoffs as the No. 2 seed.

The Celtics (5-8/1-6/4-1) celebrate Senior Day and host Point Park in their final contest of the year Saturday, Oct. 29.
