Mirenda named RSC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week


Carlow University goalkeeper Lexie Mirenda posted a shutout in big conference win to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 17-23. 

Mirenda, a 5’6” junior from Altoona, Pa., made seven saves in a 3-0 win over WVU Tech to improve the Celtics to 4-3 RSC and put them in fourth place with one conference game to go. 

Mirenda faced seven shots in the game, which was her second shutout of the season. She extended her conference lead to 94 total saves and a conference-best 8.55 saves per game. She is 19th in the NAIA in saves per game and 34th in total saves.  

Carlow (5-7-2, 4-3 RSC) finishes the conference schedule at home against Point Park on Saturday, Oct. 29.
