St. Vincent defeats Carlow in men’s golf


The Carlow University men’s golf team was defeated by St. Vincent College in a dual match at Champion Lakes, on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Bearcats scored 324, while the Celtics scored 421 on the par-71, 6,608-yard course.

“The guys made the University proud,” Carlow head coach Ryan Shank said. “It was the first time they played the course and that made it a little more difficult.”

Jake St. George (SO/Monaca, PA) had the best finish for Carlow, shooting a 96. Nate Bell (SO/Aliquippa, PA) shot 98, Nick Paone (FR/Export, PA) shot 111, Brian Ziegler (FR/West Mifflin, PA) shot 116 and Dalton Bacco (FR/Pittsburgh, PA) shot 121.

The Celtics next compete against Point Park University, on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Youghiogheny Country Club.
