Women of Spirit Institute's ECO Camp
July 17, 18, and 19, 2012

ECO Camp

ECO Camp (Environmental Career Opportunities) focuses on three core themes that students interested in pursuing careers in Environmental and Green science should be familiar with: Environment, Energy and Sustainability.

Science and the Environment

ECO Camp is a three-day program that introduces you to "green" careers. Through hands-on labs, seminars, and field trips to Pittsburgh locations where environmentally friendly work is being done, you'll discover the broad range of opportunities in these booming fields. You'll also meet other girls like you who are eager to explore creative ways they can improve and sustain the health of the planet through fields like science, art, conservation, and industry.ECO Campers in action!

"Green" Studies in College

ECO Camp participants enjoy experiences that give them an advantage when applying to college, such as:

  • Seminars with scientists, conservationists, researchers, and environmentally friendly entrepreneurs
  • Trips for college preparation
  • Field trips
  • Hands-on activities and labs
  • Green chemistry lab
  • New Science, Green Discoveries Scavenger Hunt
