Carlow University’s Mercy Center for Service (MCS) creates synergy by communicating, coordinating, and collaborating with the University community to organize service efforts.

Communicate, Coordinate, Collaborate

COMMUNICATE. The MCS communicates volunteer opportunities to the Carlow community to create awareness of societal issues and needs. Communicating promotes inspiration of a campus-wide ethic of service continuing the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy.

COORDINATE. The MCS coordinates connections between nonprofit organizations and volunteers from the Carlow community who want to serve. Nonprofits can register with the MCS to create an ongoing partnership.Coordinating promotes interaction with community partners and helps them increase their service capacity through our contribution of time and talent as a hands-on co-worker in service to another.

COLLABORATE. The MCS fosters collaborations between volunteers in the Carlow community who want to do service individually or with a group. Collaborating promotes personal transformation through understanding and reflecting on social and moral challenges impacting individuals and communities, locally, and globally.
