This course provides opportunities for students to develop an understanding of self within social, political, and economic systems. The course considers the self as formed through ethnicity, racial identity, social class, gender, and family factors. Students will examine the neighborhoods and communities in which they grew up and will reflect on ways in which these immediate environments contribute to an identity and to the development of values and goals. 3 credits FULFILLS GLOBAL REQUIREMENT
