An examination of various theories and practices of political communication and the range of contexts within which it occurs. Students explore communication employed by government and political leaders, mass media, lobbyists and interest groups, and individual citizens and citizen publics. The course allows students to analyze numerous examples of political communication such as blogs, speeches, debates, campaign advertisements, political protests, and other communication vehicles. 3 credits FULFILLS ECONOMICS/POLITICAL SCIENCE LAI REQUIREMENT.
