This course focuses on the world of learning theory, beginning with its evolution over the decades. The course does not advocate one theory over another, nor does it reject outright or endorse any theory. Instead, the concept of learning theory is under study, specifically how learning theories are used and misused to influence curriculum, policy, teaching methods, and assessment. Attention is given to the emergence of a Learner-Centered learning theory and its influence upon emerging educational systems' design and curriculum. 3 credits PREREQUISITES: HPL 700, HPL 710, AND HPL 720
