Q: I sent the Commencement RSVP. Will I receive any confirmation?
A: Your name will appear on the RSVP List within 72 hours. |
Q: What do I do after I RSVP? RSVP available in April
A: Buy your cap and gown and arrive on time for the ceremony on graduation day. Undergraduate students who earned honors need to pick up their honors cords at the bookstore or at the check-in desk on graduation day.

Q: Is there a rehearsal for Commencement?
A: No. Please arrive one hour before Commencement and the volunteers will instruct you in what to do. Refer to the "Graduation Day" link at the right for information about the ceremony. |
Q: When will I receive my diploma?
A: Diplomas will be mailed after graduation. They will not be distributed on graduation day. |
Q: How long does Commencement last?
A: Approximately two hours. |
Q: How many people can I invite to Commencement?
A: Each graduate will receive up to six tickets, and can request up to 2 extra tickets on the RSVP form. Extra tickets will be distributed after the RSVP deadline only if they are available. |
Q: How are students who have earned honors recognized?
A: Undergraduate students who have earned honors will wear an honors cord as part of their regalia. They will also have their honor announced after their name (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) on stage at Commencement. |
Q: May children attend Commencement?
A: Children may attend Commencement, but they need a ticket. In order for the ceremony to be pleasant for everyone, please be prepared to remove fussy babies from the auditorium immediately. |
Q: Can my family take pictures during the ceremony?
A: Photography is only permitted in areas where it does not disrupt the dignity of the ceremony. Photography is not permitted in the aisles where the faculty and students process in and out of the auditorium |
