Q: I sent the Commencement r.s.v.p. Will I receive any confirmation?
A: No. Your name will appear on the RSVP List within 48 hours of the office receiving your r.s.v.p. |
Q: What do I do after I r.s.v.p?
A: After you r.s.v.p., you only need to make sure you buy your cap and gown, then arrive on time for the ceremony on graduation day.

Q: Is there a rehearsal for Commencement?
A: No. Please arrive one hour before Commencement and the volunteers will instruct you in what to do. Refer to the "Graduation Day" link at the right for information about the ceremony. |
Q: Will I receive my diploma at Commencement?
A: Yes. Diplomas will be distributed immediately after the ceremony for thirty minutes. |
Q: How long does Commencement last?
A: Approximately one and a half hours. |
Q: How many people can I invite to Commencement?
A: While tickets are not required, we are asking everyone to limit the number of guests they invite to 10. Seating will be on a first come basis. |
Q: How are students who have earned honors recognized?
A: Undergraduate students who have earned honors will have their honor announced after their name (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) on stage at Commencement. You will then be handed a purple and gold honors tassel. |
Q: May children attend Commencement?
A: Children may attend Commencement. In order for the ceremony to be pleasant for everyone, please be prepared to remove fussy babies from the auditorium immediately. |
Q: Can my family take pictures during the ceremony?
A: Photography is only permitted in areas where it does not disrupt the dignity of the ceremony. Photography is not permitted in the aisles where the faculty and students process in and out of the auditorium. |
Q: I won't be attending Commencement. How will I get my diploma?
A: Diplomas will be mailed to graduates who didn't attend Commencement beginning the following week. |
