ECO Camp

ECO Camp (Environmental Career Opportunities) focuses on three core themes that students interested in pursuing careers in Environmental and Green science should be familiar with: Environment, Energy and Sustainability.

The environment portion focuses on how the earth functions as a living organism and sustains life on our planet. Air, water and soil cycles will be briefly discussed in the context of the fate of pollutants like carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, heavy metals, synthetic chemicals like phthalates and dioxin. The energy portion will show students how we currently generate energy, the problems associated with such generation and the possible green alternatives. The sustainability section will tie together the first two sections addressing the changes we must make as individuals and as a society to ensure the continuation of biodiversity and human life on planet Earth. >>See photos and schedule from the last event
