Sunshine Barron
DNP, MSN, BSN, RN
Sunshine M. Barron is an assistant professor who specializes in critical care nursing. She obtained her BSN from Duquesne University, MSN from Waynesburg University and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chatham University. Research interest is in the use of simulation activities to enhance critical thinking in the clinical setting. Dr. Barron continues her professional nursing practice in the PACU at UPMC Passavant.

Mary Louise Bost is a professor who specializes in community health. She completed her BSN at Duquesne University and her doctoral work in public health at the University of Pittsburgh. She is particularly interested in illness prevention and community level strategies.

Vivian Boyer
RN, CNM, BSN, MSN, MBA, DNP
Vivian Boyer is a professor who specializes in maternal/child and women’s health. She has a strong interest and background in alternative and complementary medicine and incorporates this into her clinical and didactic teaching. She is a practicing certified nurse midwife. She received her nurse midwife education from Frontier School of Midwifery, the first community based midwifery education program established in the U.S. Her MSN from the University of Pittsburgh focused on Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialization with an emphasis on patient and family teaching in the perinatal period. She also received her MBA from Seton Hill University and her DNP from Chatham University.

Carol L. Caliendo
RN, BSN, MSN, ND, CNM, CRNP
Carol L. Caliendo is a professor whose clinical specialties are maternal/newborn and women’s health care. She obtained her MSN at the University of Illinois, and completed her doctorate in nursing at Case Western Reserve University. Her primary research interest is the health effect of body art, particularly intimate body piercing. Dr. Caliendo has published numerous nursing research articles on that subject.

Patricia Davies

Pat Davies is an assistant professor in the NCEL and DNP programs and is certified as an Adult Health Clinical Specialist by the ANCC. Her specialties include quality and patient safety management and evaluation, curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, geriatric healthcare issues, and high acuity medical-surgical problems. She completed her BSN at Slippery Rock University, MSN at the University of Pittsburgh and DNP from Waynesburg University.

Catherine Grant is an assistant professor and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and she serves as an active family nurse practitioner in primary care at a rural health center. Clare M. Hopkins is a professor with a specialty in psychology and mental health nursing. She completed her BSN at the University of Michigan, her MSN at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and her MA and PhD at Duquesne University. Her research interests include the effects of spirituality on health. Dr. Hopkins is the Associate Dean of Nursing.

Danielle is Director of Nursing Simulation and Skills Lab and instructor of nursing. She received her BSN from Carlow University, MSN from Waynesburg University and is a currently enrolled at Chatham University's Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program and will graduate in August of 2010.  Her areas of practice include medical-surgical, geriatrics and cardiology. She continues her professional nursing practice working casual pool at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on a Progressive Cardiac Care Unit.

Her research interests include immunization compliance.
