SPiRiT

  • SPiRiT

The Student Promotion and Recruitment Team (SPiRiT) was established in 1989 to assist the Office of Admissions. More specifically, SPiRiT was formed so that current students (SPiRiT ambassadors) may share their Carlow experience, informing prospective students about college life and being a student at Carlow University.

SPiRiT ambassadors help recruit prospective students by providing tours of the campus, hosting prospective students in the residence halls, sharing personal Carlow stories, and offering a student perspective and assistance during the admission process — all on a voluntary basis.

    Why be a SPiRiT Ambassador?

    • Make friends. SPiRiT is a great way to meet new people. Being involved on campus is a great social outlet!
    • Plump up that resume. Not only does it look great on a resume or curriculum vitae, but ambassadors gain valuable public speaking and leadership skills, as well as volunteer hours - all important criteria employers look for.
    • Get in the know. SPiRiT ambassadors are provided with all of the recent and interesting scoop about Carlow, Oakland, and the surrounding Pittsburgh area!
    • Make some money. Interested in doing more than volunteering? Have leadership qualities? Join SPiRiT and maybe you will be the next student event coordinator!?!
    • Awesome Perks. SPiRiT ambassadors are rewarded for their hard work with perks like free food at meetings, gift certificates to local businesses, small give aways and raffles, and appreciation parties!
    • Have fun and show some Carlow SPiRiT! Ambassadors help prospective students find out what Carlow is all about. SPiRiT ambassadors socialize and host prospective students at Admissions’ campus visit days and overnights.
