ECO Camp

  • Carlow University's ECO Camp Pre-College Summer Workshop
  • ECO Camp (Environmental Career Opportunities) focuses on three core themes that students interested in pursuing careers in Environmental and Green science should be familiar with: Environment, Energy and Sustainability. Open to all high school girls entering grades 9-12 interested in investigating environmental careers.

  • ECO CAMP: July 15, 16, and 17, 2014

    This three-day workshop includes two nights* spent in the Carlow dorms! Cost includes the 3-day workshop, all off- campus transportation, a T-shirt, a journal, continental breakfasts and lunches and dinner, activities and residence hall during the overnight portion.  

    Science and the Environment

    ECO Camp is a three-day program that introduces you to "green" careers. Through hands-on labs, seminars, and field trips to Pittsburgh locations where environmentally friendly work is being done, you'll discover the broad range of opportunities in these booming fields. You'll also meet other girls like you who are eager to explore creative ways they can improve and sustain the health of the planet through fields like science, art, conservation, and industry.

    "Green" Studies in College

     As an ECO Camp participant, you can enjoy experiences that give you an advantage when applying to college, such as:

    • Stay two nights in a college residence hall
    • Participate in hands-on lab activities with Carlow faculty
    • Visit with researchers at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine
    • Explore green careers and visit one of the “greenest buildings on earth"
    • Engage in conversations with scientists, conservationists, and researchers
