Biography
Julie Gaul joined the Celtic coaching staff in 1993. She coached Junior
Olympic Volleyball for five years and also served as the co-director of
Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Club. Gaul coached the Pennsylvania High School
team at the King Kamehameha Volleyball Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is
looking forward to coaching this talented Celtic team in the fall and excited
about being in the KIAC and USCAA for the second season.
Coach Gaul earned her master of science degree in exercise
physiology and played volleyball for the University of Pittsburgh. Her team won
the first Big East Championship for the University of Pittsburgh. Gaul was
named MVP of the Big East.
In 2004, Gaul was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall
of Fame, Washington/Greene County chapter for athletic achievement in track and
field and volleyball. In addition to coaching volleyball, she serves as the
director of wellness and fitness services at Carlow University and is a certified
clinical exercise specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Gaul is also a certified holistic stress management instructor and provides
wellness and fitness programming to the Carlow community. Coach Gaul completed
her MBA at Carlow University in 2010.
