Carlow women’s soccer team leads RSC in Scholar-Athletes

The Carlow women’s soccer team led the River States Conference with 13 team members named to the 2017 River States Conference Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team, which includes 75 student-athletes. The award is given to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically in the RSC.

To earn a spot on the team, student-athletes must have a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher, compete in an RSC championship sport and be nominated by their athletic department.

Carlow’s recognized athletes are Allison Lohr (SR/Leechburg, Pa.), Karina Wallace (JR/Jeannette, Pa.), Rachel Flory (SO/Huntington Beach, Calif.), Kelsie Balsam (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.), Alexa Mermigas (SR/Wexford, Pa.), Riley Walsh (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.), Kristina Wallace (JR/Jeannette, Pa.), Lexie Houk (SO/Racine, Pa.), Franki Berarducci (JR/West Newton, Pa.), Emily Emge (JR/Beaver Falls, Pa.), Jessica Horgan (SR/Bethel Park, Pa.), Cayla Imbarlina (SR/North Huntingdon, Pa.) and Stacey Sikora (SR/Vandergrift, Pa.).

The NAIA has a similar awards program, the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, which is for juniors and seniors who have a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.
