Celtics drop RSC match to Asbury, 3-1

The Carlow women’s soccer team fell to River States Conference opponent Asbury (Ky.) University, 3-1, on the road Saturday, Sept. 30.

The Eagles had a powerful offensive attack, putting 16 shots on goal and earning a 3-0 lead by halftime.

Rachel Flory (SO/Huntington Beach, Calif.) scored the Celtics’ goal in the 80th minute.

Carlow goalkeeper Lexie Mireda (SR/Altoona, Pa.) made 13 saves, while allowing three goals.

The Celtics host a pair of RSC games this weekend, playing Brescia (Ky.) on Friday, Oct. 6 and Midway (Ky.) on Sunday, Oct. 8.
