Koran leads Carlow past Midway, 3-1

The Carlow volleyball team earned its second River States Conference win, 3-1, against Midway (Ky.) University, on Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Joseph Hall.

The Celtics (9-11/2-4/6-2) rebounded for the victory, 25-14, 23-25, 25-22, 25-13, the day after falling in a close 3-1 match with Asbury.

Michaela Koran (JR/North Olmsted, Ohio) had a strong all-around performance, with 22 assists, 13 digs and nine kills. She made just one error in 12 hitting attempts, posting a .667 attack percentage.

After the Eagles won the second set, Sabrina Morosky (SR/Greensburg, Pa.) stepped in and gave the Celtics a spark to finish out the final two sets.

Kristina Hudock (SR/Uniontown, Pa.) talled 12 kills and 17 digs. Mia Marmion (SR/Upper St. Clair, Pa.) had three serving aces and eight digs and Emma Penrod (FR/North East, Pa.) added nine kills. Kassidy Dickson (JR/Cochranton, Pa.) had two solo blocks and two block assists.

The Celtics host USCAA opponent Kent State Tuscarawas on Thursday, Oct. 5.
