Espy, Woodley named USCAA Runners of the Week

Carlow runners Amanda Espy (FR/Oil City, Pa.) and Chris Woodley (JR/Northern Cambria, Pa.) have been named USCAA Runner of the Week in Women’s Cross Country and Men’s Cross Country.
 
Espy won the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16, in a time of 20:58 for a 6:46 pace in the 5K race, becoming the first individual winner in Carlow cross country history.
 
She also led the Celtics to a first-place team finish in the three-team, 29-runner meet, which was the first team victory in school history. Carlow scored 32 points, with a team time of 1:58:46.
 
Woodley took third place to lead the Celtics in the men’s 8K race. He ran 29:38 for a 5:58 pace in the four-team, 29-runner field.
 
The Celtics next race in the Saint Vincent College Invitational at 9:30am Sept. 23.
