Six Celtics earn RSC Women’s Soccer Awards

Six Celtics were honored when the 2016 All-River States Conference Women's Soccer Teams & Individual Awards were announced by the league office on Friday after voting from the nine RSC women's soccer head coaches was conducted this week.

The All-RSC Women's Soccer First Team included 14 players with two goalkeepers, four defenders, four midfielders and four forwards. The All-RSC Second Team included 15 players with an extra forward included.

The River States Conference Women's Soccer Champions of Character Team was also named with one player from each team chosen who best represents the five core character values of the NAIA's Champions of Character program, which are: respect, responsibility, intergrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

Carlow is represented on the First Team by junior goalkeeper Lexie Mirenda and sophomore forward Kristina Wallace. On the Second Team for Carlow are sophomore defender Karina Wallace, freshman midfielder Lexie Houk and freshman forward Malak Shuman. Carlow’s Champion of Character winner was Emily Hardek.
