Hutton places 7th at DII invitational

Janika Hutton led the Carlow University women’s cross country team in the Go-Fast River Run at Lock Haven University, on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Hutton (FR/Monongahela, Pa.) placed seventh overall and recorded the second fastest time in school history, at 24:18.1, in the 6k race.

The Celtics placed fifth among five teams and individual competitors at the NCAA Division II invitational.

Megan Horgan (FR/Bethel Park, Pa.) had the next fastest finish for Carlow, placing 26th, with a time of 27:25.1. Lea Chwilka (JR) was 30th, in 28:23.9. Gabrielle Kluger (SO/Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was 34th, in 30:05.7. Katie Winter (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) was 35th, in 30:15.4. Alyssa Ignat (SR/Greenville, Pa.) was 38th, in 32.23.7.

The Celtics next run in the River States Conference Championship, at WVU Tech, on Saturday, Nov. 5.
