No. 2 RedStorm too much for Celtics

The Carlow University men’s soccer team suffered an 8-0 loss to No. 2 University of Rio Grande on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The RedStorm (12-1-1, 4-0-1) got two goals apiece from Pau Delgado Rodriguez, Danny Carroll and Deri Corfe, and one from each of Jorge Guinovart and Lucas Talaveira-Befi.

Guinovart and Talaveira-Befi also had an assist apiece. Isaiah Chapman had two assists and Harry Reilly, Patricio Arce and Joao Paulo Antonio each had one.

Carlow goalkeeper Kosi Agbevor (JR/Brooklyn, NY) had to face 32 shots and made five saves. Agbevor now leads the River States Conference in saves per game, with 5.9.

Benjamin Martinez and Billy Spink each played a half in goal for the RedStorm. Martinez made one save on Carlow’s lone shot.

The Celtics (3-7/1-5/2-0) travel to Washington Adventist University on Thursday, Oct. 20.
