RedStorm scores two late goals to top Carlow

The Carlow University women’s soccer team allowed two late goals in a 2-1 loss to University of Rio Grande on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The Celtics took the lead in the 36th minute, when Kristina Wallace (SO/Jeannette, PA) scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season from 10 yards out on the left wing.

Rio Grande’s Sydney Johnson netted a pair of goals in the 83rd and 86th minutes to give the RedStorm (3-9-2/2-2-1) its second River States Conference win. Johnson’s goals were assisted by Emma Saxby and Rachel Haddad.

Lexie Mirenda (JR/Altoona, PA) made five saves for Carlow, and Alli Jones made three for Rio Grande.

The Celtics (4-7-2/3-3/0-1) next host WVU Tech on Saturday, Sept. 22.
