The Carlow University women’s cross country team finished ninth in a 14-team meet at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational, on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Pitt won the meet, scoring 34, and Seton Hill was the runner-up, scoring 81. Other competitors included Duquesne, Carnegie Mellon, Robert Morris and River States Conference rival Point Park. The Celtics scored 259 in the 5K race.
Janika Hutton led Carlow with a time of 20:50.3 to finish 29th overall. It was the second fastest time in school history.
Carlow’s top five was completed by Ashley Hankins, (55th, in 24:16.7), Megan Horgan (57th, in 25:14.4), Leanne Glaub (58th, in 25:57.2) and Lea Chwilka (60th, in 26:19.5).
Chelsia Poole, of Seton Hill, was the winner, with a time of 18:8.8. Angela Mignanelli, running unattached to any team, was the runner-up, in 18:59.3.
The Celtics next run at the Lock Haven University Go Fast River Run on Saturday, Oct. 29.
