Asbury tops Carlow, 3-1, in men’s soccer

The Carlow University men’s soccer team fell to Asbury University, 3-1, on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Highmark Stadium.

Asbury scored all three of its goals in the first 26 minutes. Ryan Metcalf, Zack Andrews, and Noah Welch each netted a goal. Jarod Rocco had two assists and Austin Baker had one.

Nai Mayen (JR/Syracuse, NY) scored the Carlow goal, his second of the season, on a penalty kick.

Carlow goalkeeper Kosi Agbevor (JR/Brooklyn, NY) faced 31 shots and made 13 saves, eight of them in the second half, to shut out the Eagles after the break to keep the contest close.

The Celtics travel to Brescia University, on Thursday, Oct. 6.
