Four Celtics score as Carlow routes Brescia

Four different Celtics scored as the Carlow University women’s soccer team routed Brescia University, 4-0, in a River States Conference match Thursday, Oct. 6, in Owensboro, Ky.

Carlow scoring leader Kristina Wallace (SO/Jeannette, PA) added her seventh goal of the season, while Malak Shuman (FR/Monroeville, PA), Emily Hardek (SO/Allison Park, PA) and Lexie Houk (FR/Racine, PA) each tallied a goal.

Wallace had two assists and Emily Emge (SO/Beaver Falls, PA) had one.

Lexie Mirenda (JR/Altoona, PA) earned the shutout in goal, with one save.

The Celtics (3-5-2/2-1/0-1) outshot the Bearcats, 16-4, with nine shots on goal compared to Brescia’s one. Carlow took 12 corner kicks; Brescia took none.

Jerrica Kidd and Jordan Blemker each played a half in goal for Brescia. Kidd allowed one goal and made one save, and Blemker allowed three goals and made four saves.

Carlow next plays Midway University, on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1pm.
