Seeking: Nominations for the Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership

Three young women from each participating institution across Pennsylvania are admitted into the program.

Three young women from each participating institution across Pennsylvania are admitted into the program and receive a scholarship of at least $5,000 to put toward the cost of an international experience of their choosing. 

Here are the guidelines for eligibility:

  • No previous international experience (with the exception of Canada or the Arcadia Preview Program)
  • Undergraduate woman of sophomore or junior status at one of the VIH institutions
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Full time student status for at least two terms with a Baccalaureate degree in progress
  • GPA of not less than 3.0
The mission of the Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership (VIH) is to develop and encourage a passion for life-long learning and civic engagement. The VIH Program prepares women for tomorrow’s global challenges by offering a unique opportunity for international experiences, leadership development and community service.
