Hutton leads Celtics to runner-up finish at Franciscan Invitational

The Carlow University women’s cross country team finished second out of four teams in the Franciscan Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Janika Hutton (FR/Monongahela, PA) was the individual runner up, with a time of 22:27.83. It Hutton’s second straight runner-up performance, after her finish at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational, on Sept. 17.

Megan Horgan (FR/Bethel Park, PA) took fourth place (24:00.83), Leanne Glaub (SO/West Seneca, NY) was eighth (24:30.83) and Ashley Hankins (FR/Pittsburgh, PA) was 10th (25:16.27).

The Celtics finished with a team score of 37, behind Franciscan, with 22. La Roche took third place, with 85, and St. Aloysius was fourth, with 94.

Franciscan’s Grace Galligan was the individual winner for the 5k race, with a time of 20:22.52.

The Celtics next run at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational, on Saturday, Oct. 8.
