Celtics falter in 3 matches at CRAM Quad

The Carlow University volleyball team lost three matches at the CRAM Quad, at Rochester College, on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The Celtics fell to Marygrove, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-15) and Concordia Ann Arbor, 3-0 (25-9, 25-16, 25-23). Their best match of the day was a thriller against Rochester, which they dropped 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-11).

Kristina Hudock (JR/Uniontown, PA) led Carlow in kills in each match, recording nine against Marygrove, 23 against Rochester and eight against Concordia. She was also the team leader in serving aces against Marygrove and Rochester, with three and six, respectively.

Michaela Koran (SO/North Olmsted, OH) posted 71 assists on the day, including 40 against Rochester.

Mia Marmion (JR/Upper St. Clair, PA) was the defensive leader with 38 digs, reaching double figures in each match.

Ashlyn Whitmore (FR/Memphis, TN) had three blocks against Marygrove and nine against Rochester. Kassidy Dickson (SO/Cochranton, PA) had two blocks against Concordia.

The event completed the weekend road trip to Michigan for the Celtics (4-9/0-0, 3-3), who split a pair of matches with Lawrence Tech and Silver Lake the previous evening.

Carlow opens River States Conference play in their next match, a home contest against Indiana University Kokomo on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7pm.
