IU Kokomo sweeps Carlow in volleyball

The Carlow University volleyball team dropped its first River States Conference match of the season Friday, Sept. 16, at St. Joseph Hall.

The Celtics fell to Indiana University Kokomo, 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-12).

The Cougars (7-2/1-0) had a deep and balanced attack, led by Lindi Thomas (JR/Parker City, IN), who made 11 kills and just three errors on 23 attempts. Nicole Sandmann (SO/West Harrison, IN) and Alexis Brickner (JR/Wabash, IN) each had six kills. IU Kokomo compiled seven aces and six and a half blocks.

Mia Marmion (JR/Upper St. Clair, PA) led the Celtics defensively with nine digs, including her 600th career dig. Carlow was led in hitting by Bri Hoodlebrink (FR/Pemberville, OH), who had seven kills. Michaela Koran (SO/North Olmsted, OH) had 16 assist and eight digs.

The Celtics (4-9/0-1/3-3) look to rebound Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11am, when they host Indiana University East.
