Volleyball team splits a pair in Michigan

SOUTHFIELD, Mich – The Carlow University volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches at Lawrence Technological University, on Friday, Sept. 9.

The Celtics (4-6/0-0/3-3) fell to Lawrence Tech, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-18) and then defeated Silver Lake (Mich.) College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 26-24).

Against Lawrence Tech, Carlow was led in hitting by Kristina Hudock (JR/Uniontown, PA), with eight kills. Michaela Koran (SO/North Olmstead, OH) led with 12 assists. Hannah Kaminski (JR/Wexford, PA) had three serving aces. Mia Marmion (JR/Upper St. Clair, PA) had 12 digs. Elizabeth Stadelman (JR/Pittsburgh, PA) had two blocks.

Against Silver Lake, Hudock and Kassidy Dickson (SO/Cochranton, PA) each had 11 kills. Hudock and Mandy Toman (SO/Beulah, CO) each had five serving aces. Koran had 25 assists and Marmion had five digs. Ashlyn Whitmore (FR/Memphis, TN) led the Celtics with two blocks.

The Celtics complete their road trip with three matches at the Rochester Tournament, on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm.
