Volleyball team puts away Penn State Fayette

Pittsburgh – The Carlow University volleyball team put away Penn State Fayette, 3-0, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at St. Joseph Hall.

The Celtics (3-5/0-0) took victories of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-17 in their first home win and second USCAA win of the season.

Carlow was able to minimize the damage of Roaring Lions standout Siteri Tale, who led Fayette with six kills. The Celtics held the Roaring Lions (4-2) to a .154 attack percentage. Meanwhile, Carlow posted its best attack percentage of the season, at .256.

Kristina Hudock (JR/Uniontown, PA) led Carlow with 15 kills, and Bri Hoodlebrink (FR/Pemberville, OH) added nine. Michaela Koran (SO/North Olmsted, OH) had 27 assists. Mia Marmion (JR/Upper St. Clair, PA) had 13 digs and Many Toman (SO/Beulah, CO) had 12. Elizabeth Stadelman (JR/Pittsburgh, PA) and Kassidy Dickson (SO/Cochranton, PA) each had three blocks.

The Celtics hit the road this weekend, beginning with matches against Lawrence Tech and Silver Lake College on Friday.
